GTÜ – Dr. Frederik Schmidt third managing director
Dr. Frederik Schmidt will join the GTÜ management team on July 1, 2023.
The doctor of law will be responsible for the official business, among other things.
“The shareholders are delighted that the management team is now complete and that GTÜ can once again devote itself fully to the market and its partners,” emphasizes Martin Schmelcher, Chairman of the GTÜ Shareholders’ Meeting and Managing Director of BVSK e. V. “The past few months have shown that we have found a very good mix of internal and external expertise – with three different characters who harmonize excellently and will set many new impulses.”
GTÜ had already strengthened its management team with a new Managing Director from the market as of October 1, 2022: Graduate engineer Gabriele Schmidt-Rauße was previously responsible for testing and certification bodies, among other things.
Before joining GTÜ, Thomas Emmert, who holds a degree in business administration and computer science, worked as a managing director in the mobility and IT sector and as a strategy and management consultant.
Lawyer Dr. Frederik Schmidt joined GTÜ in 2011 and has been a member of the Management Board of the subsidiary GTÜ-ATEEL AG since 2016.
In 2017, he took over as Head of GTÜ’s Legal and Policy department.
In April 2022, he was granted power of attorney and became a member of the Executive Board.
From June 2022, he gradually took over responsibility for other operational areas of GTÜ, including GTÜ Prüfmittelservice GmbH.
In his role as Managing Director, he is now also responsible for GTÜ’s official motor vehicle division.
The previous Managing Director Robert Köstler, who resigned from his position on December 31, 2022 and was given a ceremonial retirement on May 5, 2023 by GTÜ, partners, companions and shareholders, closely accompanied the reorganization.
